Green Space
Green Space uses traditional and digital media to create an ecosystem that is tentatively familiar, but unstable; glitching the lines between the real and the facade, and navigating the space in-between. I look to surveillance imagery, photographic and video conventions, and contemporary mapping technologies to question the effects these visuals have on our relationship with the environment. I deconstruct the landscape to its fundamental elements, calling attention to the artificiality of the space and the visual histories it references. By doing so, I challenge their power, inviting the viewer to reconsider how their own relationships and viewpoints have been shaped.
