Studio Lighting
This course is designed for artists to become confident in using various controlled lighting techniques and styles in their photographs in order to gain more creative possibilities. Students will learn to use flash and continuous light sources to shape the content and feel of their work.
We will learn to control and shape light in the studio and on location, exploring how different lighting styles can function conceptually. There will be a lot of hands-on skills taught in this class, but always in the service of exploring and expressing your personal vision. While lighting intersects with all aspects of photography, the primary focus of this course will be photography as a fine arts pursuit. This course is geared towards students who have completed ARTO 250 and are comfortable with manual camera controls.
